Books, run alongside
Some companies do not need a finance department built from scratch. They need their books run to a standard, alongside the people already there. The Finance Engine is multi-company accounting operated as a standing service, next to your own team rather than instead of them.
What it is
The Finance Engine is multi-company accounting run as a standing service: banking feeds reconciled, receipts categorized and matched, entries classified by rules that learn from your own corrections, books closed on a cadence you can set your clock by. We run it alongside your own finance team rather than replacing it, so the people who already know your business keep the judgment calls and the system carries the volume around them.
What you receive
| Stage | What lands | What it settles |
|---|---|---|
| Read the books | A review of your current books, banking connections, and close process against a written standard | Where the books stand today, and what a clean close actually requires |
| Build the rules | Categorization and matching rules trained on your own corrections, entity by entity | How the routine work gets done consistently, across every company you run |
| Run the cadence | Banking feeds, receipts, and entries operated on a defined monthly close schedule | A close date you can plan around, every month, without a scramble |
| Hand back control | A written record of what runs on its own and what still needs your team's judgment | What your team owns going forward, and what we keep carrying for you |
What it needs from you
- Access to your banking feeds and existing accounting system, current and historical
- A named person on your team who can answer questions about historical entries
- Agreement on a close cadence and what "done" means for your books
- Time from your finance team during the first cycle, to align on the rules
How it ends
The Finance Engine does not end the way a Survey or a Blueprint does. It runs as a standing service, with a written record of what your team owns and what we carry, reviewed on a cadence you set. Where your own team is ready to take a piece of it back in house, that is a stated conclusion, in writing, not an assumption we act on.
Where it fits
The Finance Engine is the Build rung of the Finance area's Cash and working capital lane: books run to a standard, on an ongoing basis. It follows a Profit Survey or a Margin Discipline Blueprint that names cash or working capital as the constraint. See How we work for the full Survey, Blueprint, and Build sequence, or the Finance area for what else we look at here.
Flourisha is the AI operating system CoCreators Group builds and runs its own companies on, the same one Greg installs with a client's team. See how she works.
