What breaks when volume doubles.

Most of a manufacturer's gross profit comes from a small part of the business, and a real share of it earns nothing at all once cost to serve is counted honestly. Volume exposes the parts of an operation that were never built to carry it. We read your numbers the way an operator reads them, not the way a consultant does.

What caps growth here

Demand in a plant rarely shows up as too few leads. It shows up as customer concentration, a handful of accounts carrying the book, request-for-quote win rates nobody tracks by customer, and market share growth that gets discussed in the boardroom and never measured on the floor.

Gross profit by customer and by product almost always tells a different story than revenue does. The customer who looks best on the sales report is often the one costing you the most once cost to serve is counted honestly, and profit on paper does not always turn up in the bank.

Operations is where growth either holds or gives way. Capacity, on time delivery, and customer concerns measured in parts per million (PPM) are the numbers that tell you first. In a business with more than one site, the same key performance indicator (KPI) often means something different at each location, which is why comparing plants honestly is harder than it sounds.
